MONUMENT TO THE PEOPLE'S HEROES
Top of 38 m, it stands as an obelisk truncated in the middle of the square, winding onto a double terrace decorated with marble balloons. On two of its flanks, you can read inscriptions in golden letters. One is a Mao calligraphy that translates into: ' the heroes of the people are immortal ', the other is a text by Prime Minister Zhou Enlai. At the base of this impressive building is a frieze of bas-reliefs highlighting the most striking facts in the history of the Chinese Revolution.
