Commonly known as Beida, it is the oldest university in China (it was founded in 1898). As such, many old buildings can still be seen, all pleasantly arranged around its central lake. Particularly noteworthy is the Boya pagoda in the center and the beautiful west door. A visit to the University of Beijing can be a nice stopover on the (long) road of the Summer Palace.
