MAO DUN'S RESIDENCE
In this great siheyuan, Mao Dun (pseudonym Shen Yanbing) lived until his death on 27 March 1981, and then his residence was transformed into a museum, open to the public only since 1986.
As a writer known in China and abroad as a forerunner of the progressive movement in China, Mao Dun liked to Give through his writings a realistic description of Chinese society, while focusing on criticizing the different social groups based on the cartoon of his characters. The visit of his house is quite touching because all his personal objects, and even his open agenda, have remained as they were, a book and daily atmosphere of a Chinese family of the time, who might suggest that we still live there.
