DAZHALAN
It is a former shopping area where many streets cross, full of shops and entertainment. Under the Empire, it was in this area that was the Chinese city. Traditionally, in China, markets stood at the gates of the cities, and Qianmen remained very popular. In narrow narrow streets, many shops at the beginning of the century kept their exuberant storefronts from the golden age of small business in China. The street also sometimes thinks of a big bazaar, very popular with the Chinese in which you find clothes very cheap but at the expense of quality! And then, right next door, there are beautiful, well-known stores that have long been established: This is the case of Zhangyiyuan Chaye at 22 Dazhalan Jie, a very old tea store at the marble blinds, or even De, the most famous pharmacy in the capital with its three levels of traditional Chinese medicine alongside Western medicine. The neighborhood began at the Qianmen gate, but many streets were razed to give way to urban planning. Nevertheless, the remaining streets are always lively, day and night, as they are home to numerous restaurants as well as cinemas, tea houses and some show rooms (you can see the first of Beijing cinemas in the middle of the street).
