Thematic tour through the emblematic places of the Jews of Bischheim, from the Boecklin court to the old Maltings.
Bischheim was the refuge of the Jews martyred and expelled by the bishopric of Strasbourg in 1349. Until the 19th century, the Jewish community was able to live in peace and security there until it became the largest community in Lower Alsace. The municipality's idea is to honour this cultural and architectural heritage by creating a thematic tour through its emblematic sites: from the Boecklin courtyard to the old Maltingery and the synagogue. You can download the brochure, giving explanations on this route. In addition, you can visit the Jewish Ritual Bath Museum and have a drink at the Cosyteca, in order to discuss these discoveries.
