CHINA TRAVEL SERVICE KAIFENG (CTS)
Kaifeng, formerly known as Bianliang, Bianjing, Daliang or Liang, is a prefecture city in Henan province, China. It was the imperial capital during the Northern Song dynasty. The city lies in the middle of Henan province, some 70 meters above sea level. Kaifeng is home to one of China's last remaining Jewish communities, the famous Kaifeng Jews. The city also boasts a Catholic cathedral, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Kaifeng is renowned for its lively nightlife, night flea markets, open-air restaurants and spicy kebab specialties cooked in the streets every evening. The city has a population of around 900,000, while its jurisdiction, which includes a large rural area, had a population of 4,676,159 in 2010. Kaifeng's climate is continental, with distinct monsoons and seasons. The average temperature is 14 degrees Celsius and annual rainfall is around 670 mm.
