Located in the south-east of the ancient Chinese city, this building was built in honour of Wenchang and Kuixing, the gods of culture and exams in Chinese mythology under the Song (560-1279). It was once the highest building in Luoyang and a strategic point for the military. This nine-level pagoda (27 m) is built in terracotta bricks.
