It was the westernmost Fortin of the Great Wall, which was part of the first wall built from 120 BC. All the caravans leaving China to move to Central Asia were to borrow this pass. Today, there is only a huge 24 m 26 m of land and a few traces of the ramparts opening up on the desert.
