VILLA DU LAC
Imperial cuisine served in a French decor! An amazing blend of Orient and West, in this restaurant in a beautiful traditional house of the ancient French concession (a recent but well reconstructed shikumen). You can dine in the courtyard or in the attic room with a beautiful view of the small lake Taipingqiao. The experience is obviously expensive, but very pleasant for both taste buds and eyes. It serves specialities from Huaiyang (Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces), characterized by soft and sweet flavours. Many freshwater fish, crabs, poultry and swine. The kitchen is quite close to Shanghai, which has many features of the surrounding provinces'culinary specialities.
