JINJIANG HOTEL JINJIANG FANGDIAN * * * * *
Adjacent to the Garden Hotel, the building, with its imposing porch, can also imagine the splendour of the architecture and splendour of Shanghai of the 1930 s. Located in the heart of the ancient French concession, this early th century complex has three buildings in a park. The architect Palmer & Turner, at the instigation of the tycoon Victor Sassoon, owner of Peace Hotel, built the former Cathay Mansion, a néovictorien style dated 1927, and the Grosvenor House dated 1932, a former luxury apartment building. A simple décor with cream tones, the rooms have retained their beautiful hexagonal windows, and some of their chimneys. Superb bathrooms with black marble. An excellent 24-hour Chinese restaurant, the Old Shanghai Moon, on the 11 th floor of the North Block: Art Deco decor with a nice collection of photos from Shanghai during the construction of the hotel. A beautiful shopping gallery with an excellent library of foreign languages.
