WHITE CLOUD TEMPLE
This taoist temple was originally built to worship the god of Thunder. He was renamed the Ming, when the Beijing White Clouds Temple (Baiyun Guan) offered the temple shanghaien 800 rolls of sacred texts. These scrolls are currently kept at the Shanghai Library. The seven bronze statues, flowing under the Ming, are still exposed in the temple, where they are the main attraction. The Chinese also like to go to the hall of the patron saints of the taoist pantheon: It is then to find that corresponding to his year of birth, and to kneel before him by making him a offering to ask for his protection.
