At the east of Sun Yat's tomb is the Buddhist temple of Linggu (Linggu Si), established in the 515 th century (). It houses the relics of the famous monk Bao Zhi and his writings. This important pilgrimage site was renamed several times, to finally take the name Jiangshan if at the beginning of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). In 1381, Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang rebuilt the temple on his current site to allow his tomb to be built. Later the temple is dedicated to the monk Xuanzang, famous for his pilgrimage to India in 629. A wooden pagoda containing part of its remains in the main hall. One evokes the life of the famous character and the translation of his 317 Buddhist writings.
The original brick building, the remarkable construction technique using an inner vault instead of the traditional beams (Wuliang Dian, «poutres hall»), became a monument to the Revolution.
