ZHEJIANG PROVINCIAL MUSEUM
Located on the island of the lonely Hill (Gushan), this museum in 1929 is one of the first modern museums in China. It recounts the history of important moments in the history of Zhejiang province until the Communist revolution. The museum's funds now include more than 100 000 pieces from the numerous excavations in the region and dating back to the Neolithic: stone instruments, pottery, porcelain, jade objects, wood, bone, ivory, bronzes and lacquers and a beautiful collection of paintings and calligraphy of past dynasties. Large part of the past local artisanal history (Fouilles excavations).
