Designed by French architect Frédéric Rolland, the Grand Théâtre de Ningbo opened in 2004. A reproduction on the scale of Michelangelo's David is posted at the heart of the theatre. As for the bronze statue that keeps the entrance of the complex, it is a gift from the city of Florence to the inhabitants of Ningbo.
