The Alliance française de Wuhan is a center for the teaching of French language and culture located in the heart of the city. Founded in partnership with Wuhan University in 1999, it offers a wide range of courses for all levels and all audiences. Courses are taught by a Franco-Chinese team of teachers specialized in French as a foreign language. In addition to its teaching offer, the Alliance has the largest French-language media library in central China, with over 7,000 books in French and Chinese. It also organizes numerous cultural events such as exhibitions, concerts and conferences. The Alliance française de Wuhan has become a key venue for cultural exchanges between France and China.
