WUHOUCI MONASTERY
A little south of the city is a temple built in the life of Zhu Geliang (181-234), the Marquis Wu, a distinguished strategist of the Three Kingdoms period. In the xivth century, reconstruction merged the temple of Liu Bei, emperor of the kingdom of Shu, with that of Zhu Geliang, his Prime Minister. The current building dates back to 1672, with many renovations. There are beautiful stalls there. Liu Bei's tomb and his two wives are west of the whole: large tumulus in the middle of a beautiful park planted with cypress. A little further south, an exhibition room brings together facts and objects relating to the period of the Three Kingdoms. Direct access to the Nanjiao Gongyuan Garden just west, to visit early in the morning to attend the Taiqiquan sessions, dances and popular songs.
Just next to the entrance of the monastery, a series of reconstituted lanes, with souvenir shops and restaurants, is a pleasant ballad. In the park, you can admire a beautiful collection of wall sculptures from the Song dynasty.
