Under the Song, in 977, Chongfusi was subsequently destroyed. Kuicun, a monk of the Ming era, erected the central hall on the temple ruins and 100 other buildings were built in fifty years (1573-1619). Today is one of Fuzhou's five biggest temples.
The Fuzhou region has a long Buddhist tradition and many places of worship were built over the centuries on these fertile lands, punctuating a steep relief. Visit the Stone Bamboo Hill (Shizhushan ↔ 大) where the temple of the Nine Immortal (or Shizhu Temple) is located under the Tang, in 847.
