XIAMEN UNIVERSITY

This ensemble, founded in the 1920 s by influential Chen Jiageng, is a wonderful blend of traditional Chinese architecture and modern western techniques. Above all, the site offers a fabulous view of the sea. Among this vast ensemble, we will remember the Jimei building, which houses a retrospective of the life of Lu Xun, famous writer at the beginning of the twentieth century who taught at Xiamen University in 1926 and 1927, and the Museum of Anthropology (take the first left from the entrance), which owns a large collection of fossils, artifacts and bones from popular China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia from Prehistory to the Qing Dynasty.
