OVERSEAS CHINESE MUSEUM
Housed in an old villa in the early th century, this museum presents a rich panorama of the history of the overseas Chinese divided into five parts: the departure from China (going back to the most distant periods when the journey was made by the Silk Road), the difficult times of the first installations (work in mines, on railway yards and in factories), the adaptation, integration and finally the influence of the Chinese overseas.
Very interesting photos of photos and objects to understand the importance of overseas Chinese in the history and development of Xiamen city. The museum was established by Chen Jiageng (1874-1961), a Chinese immigrant in Singapore who devoted his fortune to the development of his hometown of Xiamen.
