OPIUM WAR MUSEUM
The museum is also called the memorial of Lin Zexu, in memory of the governor of the province who fought against foreign forces to ban the sale of opium in China. The location is a bit dusty, but there is no lack of charm. During your visit (explanations in English), you will be able to come back to the events that took place in the country at that time: the two opium wars. The museum was built at the very place where Governor Lin Zexu publicly burned the 23,700 opium crates he had previously confiscated from the British.
