ROYAL TOMBS OF JINGJIANG
The origin of the lineage of the Princes of Jingjiang dates back to the Ming Dynasty. In 1369, the eldest brother of the founder of the dynasty received the administration of the region from the monarch. It is the birth of the principalities of borders to strengthen control of central power. These fiefdoms were supposed to supervise territorial commands. The princes of Jingjiang died until 1650. Mandchous, upon arrival in the region, tamil and violèrent burials after crushing the Légitimiste movement of the South Ming.
These tombs present themselves in their design and in their décor with the aesthetic cannon and the protocol that is imposing in Beijing in the Ming era. Beautiful slender roof and impressive stone statues along the path leading to the mausoleum: elephants, lions and fantastic animals like unicorne. At the end, two advisers are represented. The beauty of these sculptures lies in their simplicity. Today, merchants sell Jade, and the atmosphere is more that of a market than a mausoleum.
