ZOOLOGICAL & BOTANICAL GARDENS
Site housing cages that confine various species of monkeys, including large orangutans
Opened in 1864 near Hong Kong Park, on the other side of Garden Road, this historic 5.6-hectare park combines exotic flora and fascinating fauna. Ideal for a refreshing break, its shady paths invite you to relax, while its enclosures are home to colorful birds, reptiles and primates. In 2024, the park suffered a significant incident: the death of nine monkeys, including protected species. Investigation revealed a bacterial disease linked to nearby construction work.
