SÃO DOMINGOS CHURCH
This building, erected by Dominicans in the century, is one of Macao's many Baroque churches
Close to the prospect of Largo do Senado, São Domingos, erected by Dominicans in the seventeenth century, is among the many baroque churches in Macao. Large wooden doors open onto a pastel and sober interior, beautifully preserved. In addition to the Virgin Mary, the church also houses a statue of Fatima. The church is the starting point for the great annual procession of Fatima on May 13. São Domingos Square is the starting point for small alleys where local specialties can be purchased. This church is really a beautiful vestige of the Portuguese colonial era.
