CENTRE MÉDICAL TIBÉTAIN - MENTSIKHANG

The building is located on the right, at the beginning of the main avenue which leaves the place du Jokhang. It was founded in the th century by Yutok Yönten Gompo on Iron Hill (chakpori), then razed during the Cultural Revolution and transferred near the Jokhang. The antenna that can be seen now marks the exact place. At the foot of the hill, prayer banners and polished rocks testify to the veneration of the pilgrims. You can consult a Tibetan doctor who will visit the centre and show you the tangkas of anatomy and astrology, medicine and astrology being intimately linked to Tibet.
