The pioneer establishment in this category has been open since 2001, very popular with young people with a very friendly French-speaking team at the helm. A real oasis in the heart of San José with a swimming pool and a large tropical garden. The dormitories have a capacity of 4, 6 or 8 beds and are equipped with orthopedic mattresses; for men, women or mixed, they provide sheets, blankets, pillows and lockers. A great place to meet travelers from around the world in a relaxed atmosphere. By far the best hostel in San Jose!

Un gran lugar para hospedarse en San José, especialmente si son viajeros de pasó o backpackers como su nombre lo indica. Me quedé en una habitación compartida y no hubo ningún problema, todo muy limpio y hay buena convivencia. Un lugar ideal para conocer gente cool y otros viajeros. Las áreas comunes y los baños compartidos muy buenos y limpios, y la cocina equipada con todo para cocinar y ahorrarse un poco, el precio de las habitaciones son de los más cómodos en la ciudad, tienen bar/restaurante y cafe gratis, el servicio fue muy bueno y definitivamente volvería. Recomendado 10/10.

Area felt safe. The beds were extremely comfortable and I appreciated the curtains to close the beds in. However, there were several roaches in and around the beds. There were only 2 bathrooms (one was out of order) and 1 shower for the whole section of my hostel. There was never any toilet paper and even when I asked they just told me to go to the basement bathrooms. The bathrooms were dirty. Staff wasn’t the friendliest (all hostels are like this and I don’t know why?). There were a lot of children staying as well. (Which is fine- just an observation as I prefer adult hostels). Also the kitchen area was vey small for the amount of people there. And the coffee that was provided in the morning tasted like sewage water. Overall it was fine and I would stay again but there probably are better.

Me alojé unos días en el dormitorio sólo para hombres.
El hostal está bien organizado y el personal es muy servicial a la hora de facilitar información sobre excursiones y transporte.
Me gustaría dar las gracias especialmente a Elena, que me proporcionó mucha información para visitar los alrededores.
La recepción está siempre abierta y el café también es gratuito.
El único problema es el paso del tren a primera hora de la mañana, pero si eres un amante de los trenes como era mi caso, incluso esto no es un verdadero problema.
Gracias a todo el personal por su amabilidad.
