Museum with the largest collection of jade of the continent and the famous tables to grind corn of the chorotega tribes of the north.

Each of the five rooms presents a different theme: the cultural and ecological context of jade production, the routes of jade, jade in everyday objects, cultural beliefs and ancestral memory... The largest collection of jade in the Americas presents religious, decorative or ornamental objects and ceramic kitchen utensils, as well as gold objects from 500 BC to 800 AD. In this museum, one can see the famous corn grinding tables(metates) of the northern Chorotega tribes.

A superb museum located at the foot of the INS building overlooking the city of all its height. The jade traps are splendid, and some rather huge, but the problem is that except these objects, the museum has objects very close to those can also find gold museum or the national museum. In addition, the museum is varied very, very long texts to read on many walls. A bit long and definitely little practical for children.
I visit the Jade museum and I think that ` it is very pretty.
But there are exchange:
- the museum is on the ground floor of the ` Instituto Nacional de Seguros.
- L ` hours museum is Monday to Friday of 8:30 to 15:30 hour and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 13:00 hour.
- Currently visitors pays €8. Children younger whom 12 years does not look.

J ` liked the museum even if the explanation its only in Spanish and English.
