SPIROGYRA BUTTERFLY GARDEN
Butterfly collection in a lush setting, located about 15 minutes from downtown San Jose
Just 15 minutes from downtown San José, this garden is home to some twenty different species of butterfly. On the banks of the Rio Torres, it is one of the last remaining forest bastions in the area, opened in 1992. Sol Carballo, a dancer by profession, wanted to maintain the legacy of her father, who taught her to cherish the natural world around her. The butterflies compete with each other in beauty, the garden is magnificent and the staff very friendly. You can continue your visit on a forest trail.
