With its 50,000 hectares, it is one of the largest protected areas in Costa Rica! Between the massifs of the Poás and Irazú volcanoes, this national park is located in the most rugged areas of the country and offers a nice range of landscapes. 3 trails, Las Palmas, El Ceibo and Botarrama, of short distance (1 to 3 km) allow to reach viewpoints on the park. Note that the numerous rivers are of great importance for the production of hydroelectric power in the country.
