We arranged a 1/2 bike tour and really enjoyed the ride. The guide was great, pace was excellent. The driver had fresh pineapple, banana and snacks along with beer or water at the 1/2 way point which was fantastic, a really nice touch. The mountain bikes were in great shape, easy to ride. I would highly recommend this ride to anyone considering an awesome ride with great scenery! If anyone knows why these posts pictured say "ice" please let me know. ????

One of the worst services I have received in Costa Rica. Unfriendly staff and very clunky bikes. Flat tires, malfunctioning gears and overall rude people.

Paid for a jeep-boat-jeep tour… got a late sticky bus-floating barge-old bus tour.

I wonder how this is even legal in terms of advertising to lie so much.

The tour is operated by another company (which is clearly a baddd tour operator.) though if you like to be scammed, note that the operating agency only charges $27 when Bike Arenal charges $28 per person.

Why does it take 3h30 to do 40 kilometers in distance? Because the first bus (advertised as a jeep) is late and because the driver of the second bus (advertiser as a jeep as well) announces a 15 min stop, which is actually 35 minutes since he is enjoying the meal of a lifetime at a commercial bus stop while all the guests are bored waiting for him to come back.

Wanna go to the bathroom? You will have to pee in a bush as most of us did since there was no communication regarding potential stops

We booked a Jeep-Boat-Jeep from La Fortuna to Monteverde; we showed up in front of our hotel 20 minutes before pick-up time and waited for - what we thought it would be - a Jeep to pick us up. After a 10 minutes delay we texted the contact number only to have a mini-van that had been parked at the entrance with a different company's name back out and finally ask us if we were booked on the trip. That cued unhappy travelers who blamed us for waiting and not showing up on time when we were there much ahead of the agreed time. We had texted the number but no-one called us asking for our whereabouts which prompted a delay that was completely unnecessary. We wouldn't have guessed the mini-van packed with other people was indeed the Jeep transfer we booked, especially as the van had a totally different name on it. Upon reading the description of the website, you will indeed see the transfer is done by mini-van, but it is in no way comfortable as we had to get the seats in the back of the van, where the wheel pops out.
If you look up the itinerary on Google Maps, La Fortuna to Santa Elena takes 2h45 by car; the boat section doesn't add anything to the trip, makes it longer and is a waste of time, as the total duration of the trip was 3h30. There isn't any toilet stop until you get to the very last section of the trip; a commercial stop where the coffee place owner clearly has an agreement with the company/drivers so they can make their commission. Many people had to "go to the toilet" in the forest when getting the boat. The road is in a poor condition with lots of potholes which the driver doesn't seem to be bothered to avoid. It is relatively cheap and there's somewhat of an organization taking place to gather travelers going to the same hotels in the same van when you get off the boat, I'll give it two stars for that reason.
Why would you called this a Jeep-boat-Jeep transfer, this is very misleading and false advertising.
