CENTRAL PARK
The beautiful central square, pleasant and fresh, with benches and kiosks to watch the passers-by
The beautiful central square, pleasant and fresh, is affectionately called "mango square" by the locals. It borders the cathedral with its curious red dome, in a neighborhood dating from the 19th century. All around the Parque Central, benches and kiosks allow you to rest for a moment and watch the passers-by. Opposite the cathedral, which was damaged in the 1991 earthquake, stands the Alajuela Cultural Center, which dates from 1914 and was once the Municipal Palace. It is now a relic of historical and cultural interest.
