A small museum installed in the house where was born, in 1906, José Figueres Ferrer who was twice president of Costa Rica. He was the one who abolished the army and gave women the right to vote. The museum also houses the cultural center. The purpose of this institution, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Youth, is to promote art and culture as a way to strengthen democratic values. Everything is studied and debated there. A place where freedom is king!
