SEA TURTLE CONSERVANCY
A place not to be missed, with a small museum dedicated to the protection of eggs and baby green turtles that were once threatened.
This is the place to be if you want to learn more about green turtles. This research station was founded in 1954 by Archie Carr, a leading authority on the protection of this once endangered species. The small museum allows you to understand the colossal effort undertaken by these turtles to come and lay their eggs on their native beach, and the need to protect their eggs and babies, exposed to all dangers. Lodging intended primarily for researchers, students and volunteers (to participate: approximately 2,000 US$ for a 15-day program).
