The wooden bungalows are quietly distributed in the garden and offer a view of the forest or the river Savegre. There are many possibilities for guided or non-guided strolls, bird watching (quetzales) through the beautiful virgin forest. You should not miss the visit of the National Park of Los Quetzales, which is a few kilometres away. Bikes can also be rented for a day excursion with lunch-box (USD 6). The lodge has a restaurant "El Quetzal" which offers an international and local map. But the chef's specialty remains trout. Freshly caught in the river that crosses the area, it's definitely the dish to test. Vegetarian menus are adaptable upon request. Finally a bar on the edge of the river makes it possible to spend a moment relaxing almost the feet in the water!

Traveled with another couple to spend time at Trogon Lodge so we could see the quetzal bird. The rooms are super cozy and loved the hot water bottles in our bed - a nice touch and welcomed as it can be much cooler than the coast. We had drinks at the bar, great service and the drinks were very good. Dinner at 7:30 PM was a bit late for us but we all loved our food selections. Early morning we went to find the Quetzal bird and it did not disappoint!! Great guide and they know exactly where to go and how to spot them. A true delight!!
I accidently left my power cord to my laptop and when we returned to our main stay in Jaco, I realized it was gone. THANK YOU so much to the Admin team who got it to San Jose where I was able to get it back. With 6 more weeks in Costa Rica, I so appreciated their assistance.

Le lodge est sympa. Literie moyenne.
