Eco-lodge in the middle of nature offering very well equipped tents with kitchen, terrace and private bathroom.

Cyrielle and Antoine, a very welcoming French couple, opened this eco-lodge in the middle of nature in 2021. Set on stilts, with a hard floor and roof, the tents are very well equipped with a private kitchen, terrace and bathroom, and offer perfect privacy. Antoine built everything himself! Under the rancho, a barbecue area by the pool. Cyrielle is also a marine biologist and works with the Reserva Playa Tortuga. If you wish, you can even accompany her on a night patrol to save the turtles.

We had a fantastic stay at El Pulpo. The owner is super nice and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the cabins in great shape. Having a fridge, coffee and coffee maker, as well as other kitchen supplies was a big step up from other places we stayed and made our stay that much more relaxing.

Serendipity is the word I would use the moment I arrived. It was serendipitous that my host also happens to work with a local environmental organization that promotes the welfare of turtles. So within an hour of arriving I was on the local beach witnessing one day old turtles being gently encouraged to go towards the ocean. It was quite simply my most memorable experience of the whole trip.
That said I was genuinely impressed with how much attention to detail my hosts employed to make sure my stay was completely comfortable. The tents are really solid and the bed was very comfortable. Also the shower was the best ever! Enjoyed the ability to make coffee in the morning myself and the hosts will make a delicious breakfast for you too if you ask. thank you again and hope to return.

This place is amazing, one of the best places I stayed at in Costa Rica. I was surprised to find that we had our own kitchen and bathroom! They really did think of everything. It was the only place that had a toothbrush holder and cup in the bathroom, they even provided soap and shampoo. The kitchen was fairly well stocked and they had coffee, hot chocolate, salt, and sugar. The tent was lovely and spacious with shelving for your stuff. There was an outside table and a hammock. The location was beautiful within the jungle by a creek with alligators. The hosts were kind. The only recommendation I would make is a bit clearer signage as they were hard to read so we missed it and drove around looking for it. Also letting guests know that El Pulpo means octopus ???? so you know to look for the octopus logo.
