We love everything about this magical place. It was also the cleanest and loveliest room we had in our entire 2 week stay in Costa Rica.

The food was fantastic and the staff so so nice. The grounds were nothing short of amazing. I fell in love with the natural pool and spent a lot of time there. We also opted to use the sauna which was located next to the pool so we could just jump right into the cooling water after a session.

I missed a bit of info upon arrival. For example, we didn’t know when mealtimes were or when the restaurant opened, so we were either too early or too late, but this didn’t take away from our overall experience.

Our little girl LOVED exploring the area around our room, picking up fallen leaves and flowers. We shared a terrace with another room, but it didn’t not feel private, and the view is just amazing.

If we’re ever back in Costa Rica, this would be one of our first stops ❤️

We were staying nearby and came here for dinner. Lovely people and excellent food! The pizza toppings were very fresh, and the dessert was fantastic (flan, homemade ice cream, chocolate lava cake). It was great to be able to enjoy a delicious meal and not worry about the drive back to our Airbnb!

It is hard to put into words how fantastic Mystica Lodge & Retreat Center is. It felt amazing from the minute we arrived to the tearful minute we had to leave. They take such good care of all of there guest, like they are family. The food was always amazing. I slept so good every night. The beauty of the the entire place is breathe taking. The only thing that made me sad was, that I was unable to see any howler monkeys with my own eyes. But a beautiful friend did and she was able to get amazing pictures. But of course that was not in Mystica's control. So if I could give more than 5 stars I would give them 100. Thank you so much Barbara for an epic adventure.

The pictures do not do Mystica justice! Could not have been more satisfied with our stay! The hospitality is among the best I’ve ever experienced anywhere. The owner was there giving excursion recommendations and helped us book what we were interested in. The grounds and rooms were stunning! The restaurant food was delicious and the staff so cheery and helpful. The yoga space is absolutely magical and the teacher made it even more special. Would absolutely return to Mystica in a heartbeat.

The grounds and energy at Mystica are so incredibly magical!! My expectations have been exceeded in every possible way. The beautiful community of workers here make you feel so welcomed and comfortable. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The cabins are secluded and private, and the whole experience allows you to feel so connected to nature. The food is simply exquisite. There are truly not enough words to describe the divinity and beauty of this incredibly special place.

Mystica exceeded my expectations in every way. The grounds were beautiful, the cabin was private and peaceful, and the food was delicious. It has spectacular views of Arenal Lake, and truly makes you feel connected to nature. Pictures from their website simply do not do this place justice. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to this region!

If you're thinking about visiting...just go! Mystica is a beautiful and magical place full of peace, relaxation and beauty. The true star though is the service. Barbara and her staff were so extremely welcoming and gracious. I felt like a friend being welcomed into someone's home. The food was incredibly delicious and there were relaxing spaces to enjoy with my fellow travelers all over the property. Beyond the people and overall experience my favorite part was sitting on the porch outside my room enjoying morning coffee with beautiful lake views. I truly hope I will have the opportunity to visit again.
