BEAL COLLAR
The Col du Béal, one of the roofs of the Auvergne region, offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.
Located between the two sides of the Forez mountains, this pass offers a very beautiful view on those of Auvergne and Lyonnais. We are there on the roof of the Auvergne of the east, at 1 387 m of altitude. The pass is located on the Hautes Chaumes plateau, made up of moors, peat bogs and jasseries, classified Natura 2000. In winter, a cross-country ski trail starts there, in summer it is the cyclists who tackle the ascent of the pass. A road leads to the signal of Pierre-sur-Haute, the highest point of Forez. One finds oneself then in front of a panorama of any beauty.
