HISTORIAS LODGE
Beautiful, gleaming lodge with bright, spacious, all-wood rooms and excellent value for money
A very beautiful gleaming lodge, with an amazing architecture: a facade with stones at the bottom and wood at the top. Balconies and terrace allow you to see the pretty view of the mountains. The rooms are bright, spacious, entirely made of wood, even the bathroom. The slightly ageing welcome will be for you a mine of tourist information about the region, the best thing is always to contact Alba, the owner of the place: a charming source of information! In short, an address with an excellent price-quality ratio.

Supermarket just a few minutes away. The lodge only serves breakfast if 6 or more make reservation. We went to Taty's, a local bakery a couple minutes away. Many restaurants nearby. I would stay here again.
Our room had two double beds with extra blanket and pillow because the attitude can make it cooler.
The bathroom has a large shower and as usual in Central America, don’t flush the toilet paper as the sewerage can’t cope.
There is a dining hall for meals but we didn’t partake on this occasion.
It’s a steep steep steep hill down into Monteverde where you’ll find plenty of touristy shops but also some great places to eat.
Despite the walk up you can catch a taxi for $1-$2 USA but we’ll worth giving it a go by foot first.
