We are so happy we booked our room here! The room was comfortable and clean. The atmosphere was amazing, as was the staff. Rolando was the best! He was accommodating and had plenty of suggestions for what to see and do. We booked all our excursions with him, and all of them were exceptional! Couldn't ask for a better experience, and we will definitely be back!
La palapa in Tamarindo is the absolute worst place to visit. I will give them a zero star if that was available, It’s dirty and shouldn’t be a place to consider eating. Although is located on the beach you certainly can find other beach locations to eat or stay. The business owners are a bunch of hasslers thinking that tourists are stupid and have no good sense. If you ask them for something, they just bring you something else. Their goal is to squeeze as much money from you as they can knowing that you will be too scared to protest. Stay away from that place and watch your pocketbook. Visit a good local restaurant such as Este Azul not too far in Tamarindo where the food is fresh and the people appreciate your support.
I love this place! Everyone is so nice. Food is so yummy! I had fish ceviche and the BBQ Ribs and the mash potatoes were to die for. Fire dancers nightly and happy hour drinks! Our server Jose was really great! 5 stars. Highly recommend ???? ???? ???? ???? ????
We had lunch at their beach front restaurant. The atmosphere and service was great. The prices are definitely tourist prices. Fun place, but expensive.
Great location, right on the beach! You can walk straight out of your room into the sandy beach. Nothing beats this location. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helped us out with any questions we had. The value is outstanding!
The one negative about this place - the amount of vendors harassing you is insane. I understand there is really nothing the hotel can do about this, hence why I’m still giving them a 5 star rating. But the beach vendors will not leave you alone here, it’s super annoying. Please do not buy from them, instead buy at the local souvenir shops where the quality of goods is superior.
You couldn’t be closer to the beach if you tried. The staff are so friendly and ready to make your perfect vacation happen. They are so quick to help. My only regret is that we can’t stay longer!
Love this place, love the location and love the staff, especially Karla.
Small hotel with only 7 rooms but it has a spacious outdoor area right on the beach. Lots of nature with massive tamarind trees. We saw more wildlife here than on our excursions! Massive iguanas, squirrels, birds and howler monkeys!!!.
Rooms are loft style and feel really homely and faces towards the beach.
Location is at the end of the main street into Tamarindo. Just by the roundabout. Convenient and walking distance to everywhere in Tamarindo.
Karla was great, making us feel welcome after our late arrival from Liberia due to traffic. Her personality made us smile immediately. My wife loved chatting with Karla. Everyday we got to chat with Karla was a good day.
We will definitely stay again.
We visited the restaurant at the beach. Good food with a nice service and in a picturesque place, but extremely overpriced. Also, the souvenir sellers are allowed to sell right in the restaurant, so the walk between the tables, literally push you wuth their backpacks, put their staff on tables without asking for permission. It simply inappropriate for any restaurant. Would not be back because of the that and the pricing.
I cannot give hotel La Palapa enough stars. Rolando was on top of everything. He helped us book the best tours and made our experience unforgettable. Just steps to the ocean, a fabulous restaurant and great new friends I don't think I'd want to stay anywhere else while visiting Costa-Rica!
When we came to check in, the girl at the reception desk said that we would be able to inspect the room only after paying for it. I had to persuade her and explain that in the civilized world she is obliged to show the room before checking in. She still showed us the room, and we decided to stay at the hotel for 3 nights. The next day, when I was sleeping in a hammock, a man with a dog without a badge came up to me, did not introduce himself, woke me up and started shouting and being rude to me to get out of the hotel, otherwise he would call the police!!! To my answer that I live in this hotel, he replied that I don't have a bracelet!!! AND HE'S THE HOTEL MANAGER!!! AND HE WENT TO CALL THE POLICE!!!
Dear HOTEL DIRECTOR, if you have uneducated people working at the reception desk who do not know how to interact with people and CUSTOMERS of YOUR HOTEL, then I recommend reading my recommendations. And in your regulations to prescribe the rules of communication with customers!!! 1. Come and introduce yourself, state your FULL NAME, the position of the hotel employee. 2- Find out if I'm staying at a hotel or not. 3- FIND OUT MY LAST NAME AND PATRONYMIC to check in the database whether there are such guests in the hotel. 4- find out for yourself why your hotel guests do not have bracelets, without complaints to the guest! 5- Bring bracelets to guests and apologize for misunderstanding and concern 6- Offer a DRINK AS an APOLOGY!!! 7- Fine a hotel employee for non-compliance with the rules!!! Until all these points are met, you will lose your customers because of the stupidity of your employees!!!
We came here for lunch. Amazing views of the beach, great music, our waiter was attentive and friendly. Food was so good! We enjoyed surf and turf (Wow), cheeseburgers, chicken strips, and grilled tuna. I enjoyed a watermelon drink, it was so refreshing. We will definitely come back on our next trip.
Excelente ubicación, en el centro de Tamarindo y con la maravillosa sensación de estar en pocos metros disfrutando de la playa. La amabilidad y predisposición del personal del hotel y restaurante es otro plus. Pura Vida
