BEOGRADA CATHEDRAL (ORTODOX PÜSPÖKI SZÉKESEGYHÁZ)
One-tower cathedral with richly decorated interior and garden containing tombstones, near the religious museum.
Built between 1732 and 1734 by Serbs fleeing the arrival of the Ottomans in Belgrade and dedicated to the Virgin Mary, this one-towered cathedral was rebuilt several times. It was one of the few churches in Szentendre to be built of stone from the beginning. Men and women were separated by the iconostasis. Its interior is richly decorated. The cathedral and its garden contain many tombstones, some of them made of marble. Religious museum in the immediate vicinity.
