NATIONAL MEMORIAL (NEMZETI EMLÉKHELY) / GARDEN OF RUINS (KÖZÉPKORI ROMKERT)
The garden of the medieval ruins preserves the remains of the royal basilica of the th century. The former Alba Regia (Form) was the first Hungarian town to be born. Here 37 kings were crowned and 17 were buried. It was also here that the Holy Crown and the royal insignia were preserved, and that the royal archives were kept. The historical collections of the ruins of the Ruins include the sculpted sandstone sarcophagus of King Szent István. This king canonized has been revered by the population for a millennium, the sarcophagus is a unique relic in Hungary.
