MAIN SQUARE (FŐ TÉR)
Go there and contact
This is the great place of the old town, where each house is classified by Historical Monuments; to visit by number. In the center of the square stands one of Hungary's most beautiful votive columns, the column of the Trinity. It was erected by János Jakab Löwenburg (from 1685 to 1701) for her wife Eva Katharian Thököly, following the great plague that ravaged Austria and Hungary in 1679. Both are immortalized, by their respective statues, in a pleading gesture at the foot of the column. This monument of gratitude had to preserve the city of a new plague of plague.
