ESTERHÁZA CASTLE (ESTERHÁZY KASTÉLY)
The splendor of a flamboyant baroque baroque. The Esterháza Castle in Fertőd is a huge palace with fountains similar to those of Versailles and a French park. There is a superb, triple rococo rococo iron portal with a courtyard of honour formed by the wings of the castle with baroque ornaments. A majestic staircase in the shape of a horseshoe, surmounted by a row of baroque angels, leads to the reception hall (Sala rst). Inside, you can visit the music room (-storey height), Marie-Thérèse suite, Joseph Haydn salon and the Oval Chapel. It was in the music show that was given for the first time, in 1722, the Symphony of Farewell No. 45, a minor bullet of Haydn. Baroque splendour bursts in the ballroom, all white and gold, and where the ceiling frescoes represent Apollo, the Greek god of beauty and Light. In the four corners of the hall, niches are home to the statue of one of the four seasons. Crystal chandeliers and biseautés Venetian mirrors capture and multiply all this beauty to infinity. On the first floor, you can visit eight thread and period furniture. The most beautiful living room is probably the one that Miklós Esterházy made for the visit of Empress Marie-Thérèse in 1773. The castle has recently been renovated, its facades have recovered their original colours: ochre, beige and green salmon.
