SIKLÓS CASTLE (SIKLÓSI VÁR)
Perched on a mound in the middle of the small town, the castle of Siklós, of the th century, dominates the houses below. Passing the drawbridge, you arrive in the inner courtyard of the castle, where there is a Gothic chapel, four centuries old, with a magnificent vaulted ceiling. In this same court, constantly reformed since the th century, there is also a prison with its Torments hall. Several rooms spread over several floors. From the terrace of the jagged bastions of the th century, the view is very beautiful on Siklós, the surrounding vineyards and surrounding areas. The castle belonged to several illustrious families, including the Batthyány, and was renovated in 2011. Some wines can be tasted in the museum cellar (Vajda János tér 6).
