ARCHIEPISCOPAL PALACE (ERSEKI PALOTA)
Since 1740, it has been the residence of the bishops and archbishops of Eger. The central wing of the building - the oldest part of the palace - was reopened to the public in January 2016 following lengthy reconstruction work. You can discover the ancient manor house, the bishop's apartments as well as its library and the sumptuous Baroque chapel, admire precious ecclesiastical treasures in the collection of the archdiocese. The objects exhibited are masterpieces of textile and goldsmith art, such as Bishop Erdődy received from Mary Thérèse, for example the cloak in which she was crowned Queen.
