TOWN HALL (VÁROSHÁZA)
A big, astonishing building, sand, built on the plans of Ödön Lechner in 1896, the millennium year of the Hungarian State, in a superb Art Nouveau style. Its roof is covered with a mosaic of tuiles tiles of different colours. Its facade, decorated with the blason of the city, which includes a goat (kecske to say goat in Hungarian), is famous for its carillon, which rings every hour (Kecskemét is the city of bells and chimes). See also, a very beautiful grid of wrought iron. Make an appointment to be able to visit the richly decorated hall of honour with spectacular frescoes by Bertalan Székely, entitled: Blood Treaty and the Coronation of Emperor François Joseph. Wonderful also, the immense chandelier of the room.
