LARGE REFORMED CHURCH (REFORMÁTUS NAGYTEMPLOM)
Built between 1814 and 1821, this huge neoclassical style building, with two clocks, is painted with such a special yellow that is frequently seen in Central Europe. This calvinist temple, which can accommodate 3 000 faithful, is the largest Protestant church in Hungary. In the revolution against the Habsburg, on 14 April 1849, Kossuth read the declaration of independence of Hungary. It was completely renovated in 2014 and, since its clochers, has a beautiful view of the city (and on the church bells of which the impressive Cloche bell). Exhibitions of religious history, organ concerts and other musical events also take place between its walls.
