The magnificent Greek Orthodox Church has a huge and sumptuous iconostasis 15 m high, decorated with gold. On his first trip to Hungary in 1991, John Paul II came here to contemplate this seemingly supernatural masterpiece. The building was renovated in 2010. Máriapócs is also a pilgrimage site.
