MOSQUÉE EL KSAR
Originally a royal mosque attached to a castle, it was probably built in the 12th century. Around 1598, it was annexed to the Hanafi rite by the Turkish conquerors and renovated. The minaret dates from 1647 and is decorated with marble and glazed terracotta in a Hispano-Moorish style; the eastern façade is decorated with large horseshoe arches in the Fatimid and Sanhadjite styles. This beautiful mosque has been completely renovated and reopened in 2024. One of the most beautiful mosques in Tunis, and well worth a visit!
