CURRENCY MUSEUM
Opened in 2008 and located in the hall of the Central Bank, this museum recounts the history of Tunisian currency, from the Carthaginian and Numidian periods to 1968. A number of rarities are on display, including a 50 riyal bill, the first banknote issued in the country, dating from 1847 during the Ottoman era. Tunisia's entire history is told through the many banknotes and coins on display. The 600 m² of exhibition space guarantee an unusual visit. The museology is very successful. There's also a digital library.
