In the Tunisian dialect, jellizi means "ceramist". Located in the southwest of the medina, this mausoleum houses the tomb of the Muslim saint Sidi Kacem, revered in the 15th century for his ceramics skills. Legend has it that the man himself made the zawiya's earthenware. Today, it is a school of artistic ceramics and a museum of Islamic ceramics; some pieces, found during excavations in Tunis, date back to the 13th century and the Hafsid dynasty.
